We check your registration against public registers — the Charity Commission for England and Wales, OSCR, the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, and national registers across the EU. If we can't find you, we ask for your registration details by email.

Who is eligible for ProofAge's free age verification service?+
Registered non-profit organizations: UK registered charities and CIOs, US 501(c)(3) nonprofits, EU associations and foundations with non-profit or public-benefit status, and NGOs registered in their home country. Typical applicants run an online service, community or campaign where checking age protects minors or meets a legal requirement. We review every application individually.
Are there limits on verification volume on the free plan?+
No fixed cap applies. We set your volume individually, based on your program and the number of users you expect to verify. If your program grows, tell us and we review your allowance. Test-mode checks are always free. No card on file means no overage fees and no surprise invoices — the most affordable age verification is the one you don't pay for.
Which integrations are available (CMS, plugins)?+
- WordPress — the ProofAge Age Verification plugin on WordPress.org. A free age gate plugin for your full site, selected pages or post categories. WooCommerce charity shops can also gate age-restricted products at checkout.
- Shopify — the ProofAge app on the Shopify App Store, for charity stores with age-restricted items.
- PHP, Laravel and Node.js — official packages with request signing and webhook verification built in. The PHP SDK works with any framework.
- REST API — for Drupal, Wix, custom CMS builds and mobile apps. The age verification API is free on the Non-Profit plan and comes with an OpenAPI reference, a Postman collection and examples in 5+ languages at docs.proofage.xyz.
How long does it take to process an application?+
We review most applications within 2 business days. If your organization appears in a public charity register, it is often faster. As soon as we confirm your status, we activate your plan and you can start verifying users the same day.
